DEI Council

Our DEI Council is dedicated to promoting a culture that celebrates differences, embraces unique perspectives, and ensures equitable opportunities for all employees. We firmly believe that diverse teams drive innovation, creativity, and success.

Sandy Ramirez

San Diego, CA

(She/Her/Hers) People are my passion. More so seeing or facilitating positive interactions among people. I joined the DEI council to expand my connections, but it did more than that. I became part of a community that celebrated differences and welcomed all opinions. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

Lisa Perez

Modesto, CA

(She/Her/Hers) Tandem’s months of inclusion inspired me to join the DEI Council. Giving employees the space to share their lived experiences, insights, and the opportunity to educate employees on their culture has been amazing and so fulfilling. I have learned and gained so much knowledge and appreciation for all cultures and people from all different backgrounds.

Develle Turner

Atlanta, GA

(He/His/Him) As the DEI lead at Tandem, I am excited to be on our DEI journey. Offering leadership to the DEI Council is core to my role and a role I am excited to play. Empirical data shows DEI done right can boost a company’s revenues/profits, affect employee engagement, and help build a strong company brand. This is the work I am passionate for, and feel is the mission of my career! I want the organizations I am part of to have the Diversity that brings new perspectives and creates innovation, that provides Equity in their business practices to allow for all employees to meet their full potential, and offers an Inclusive environment where all employees can bring their unique selves to work and feel like they belong!

John Garza

San Diego, CA

(He/His/Him) The reason I joined the DEI Council is because I wanted to help all current and new employees feel comfortable and included in the culture at Tandem Diabetes Care. I have always taken the approach with my direct reports of, “you be you in everything you do."

Beth Callison

Maple Valley, WA

(She/Her/Hers) I was excited to become part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative at Tandem Diabetes Care knowing that the company puts a lot of stock in DEI and the value it provides to the company, its culture, and most importantly, its employees. Beyond that, I’m extremely passionate about DEI initiatives, as they often spring up in the Talent Acquisition world. I wanted to provide both the context I’ve gained at other organizations and be part of promoting the great DEI work already going on here at Tandem.

Sylver Clarke

San Diego, CA

(She/Her/Hers) Initially, I was reluctant to join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council because I feared tokenism. However, after living through 2020 and observing all the polarizing events of the time, I decided that utilizing my voice Is far more Important than a fear.

Ezra Fairbanks

Daytona Beach, FL

(He/Him/His) Supporting and enriching the community around me is always something I have cared about. As a Jew, I have experienced anti- Semitism both in the Middle-East and in American society, and as a white presenting male, I have also been able to enjoy the privilege that comes with that in American society when I am not presenting as Jewish. This has given me a unique experience that has proved useful to connect with people from all walks of life and to help convey issues to people in a way that makes sense to them, allowing me to build bridges between people and unite them. This gets to the heart of why I joined the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council — to use my experience and skills to bring us closer together and make life better for ALL Tandem Diabetes Care employees and the people we serve.

Bill Keen

Cedar Lake, IN

(He/His/Him) Diversity, Equity, an Inclusion is important to me not only in the workplace but also for the communities we serve who are customers and patients.

Jen Nguyen

Multiple Locations

(She/Her/Hers) The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council is an amazing group of people from all different backgrounds just trying to make a positive impact one day at a time.

Yessica Pantoja

San Diego, CA

(She/Her/Hers) I joined the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council because I wanted the opportunity to make a difference in the workplace. I am an advocate for human rights, workplace equality and diversity, and I'm always looking to further educate myself and others in the conversations of inclusion.

Samantha Saucedo

San Diego, CA

(She/Her/Hers) During my time as an undergraduate, I discovered just how enriching being involved in various forms of community organization can be. After being a part of Tandem Diabetes Care for over a year, I became inspired by the energy of the company which is constantly growing and evolving, and I wanted to find a way to be more involved at work to help create positive change. I jumped at the opportunity to be involved with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council because I believe that one of the most important aspects of a successful team is ensuring that people of all backgrounds and identities are given support and a voice as everyone brings their own unique perspective to the table.

Katherine Schipper

Minneapolis, MN

(She/Her/Hers) I have attended as many Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion meetings since starting work at Tandem Diabetes Care as I could. I love the energy and attitudes of the council members. I am someone who has benefitted a lot from certain privileges while simultaneously experiencing being stereotyped, harassed, or held back because of my gender. I believe that real change is possible, and that it requires real work.

Adrienne Tucker

San Diego, CA

(She/They) I am passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and effecting change at an organizational level.

Yvonne Wiley

San Diego, CA

(She/Her/Hers) I had the great opportunity to work on a DEI initiative this year with an amazing cross functional team. I strongly believe in diversity, be it diversity of background or thought. From there, we can take steps to understand one another and create inclusive places to learn and grow. We can help move the needle from making Tandem Dibaetes Care a great place to work to an exceptional place to work. We can make an impact on customers lives not just through our technology but also through how Tandem does business.
