Insulin On Board for pumps using Control-IQ technology:
Denotes the units of insulin active in a user’s body, based on both basal insulin and insulin boluses. A 0 units base rate starts at the personal profile basal rate, however, when Control-IQ technology increases basal insulin, or issues a correction bolus, Insulin On Board will increase, therefore, this value can change every 5 minutes.
The Insulin On Board (IOB) Time Remaining, which indicates how long the total units of insulin from food and correction boluses will be active in the body, is not displayed when Control-IQ technology is enabled due to the variability of insulin delivery when automatically responding to CGM values.
Insulin On Board for pumps not using Control-IQ technology:
Denotes the units of insulin active in a user’s body and the time that insulin will remain active, based on Personal Profile settings defined in the pump. The progress bar will be completely filled in with blue after a bolus has been delivered and will reveal grey as IOB burns down.
