Whether you are continuing a current Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) session or starting a new one with your Tandem Diabetes Care replacement pump, you will need to disconnect your old pump from your transmitter and connect the new one by following the steps below:
- Write down your current transmitter ID number, as you'll need it for your replacement pump. You can find your transmitter ID in either your old t:slim X2 insulin pump (tap OPTIONS and then My CGM) or within the Dexcom G6 mobile app (tap Settings)
- Do not stop the sensor session on your old pump
- Place your old insulin pump into Storage Mode
- Enter the transmitter ID into your replacement pump
- Start your sensor on your replacement pump
- Skip the sensor code on the replacement pump
It may take a few minutes for the sensor and replacement pump to connect and for CGM values to populate on your t:slim X2 insulin pump. The antenna symbol to the right of the battery indicator should be white.
