Basal Limit Feature

The Basal Limit is a safety feature designed to prevent accidental misconfiguration of your basal rate. For instance, in case a decimal point is mistakenly omitted, the limit can help avoid setting a basal rate of 2.0 units instead of 0.2 units.

On the t:slim X2 insulin pump, you can manage your Basal Limit in the Pump Settings section of your Personal Profiles. On the Tandem Mobi mobile app, you can manage it in the Delivery Limits section of your Pump Settings.

Determining Your Basal Limit

If you want to fully utilize the maximum Temporary Basal Rate (250%), consider setting your Basal Limit to 2.5 times your highest programmed basal rate. Please note that Control-IQ technology is not affected by the Basal Limit.

If you have further questions about your specific settings, we recommend discussing them with your healthcare provider. Always refer to the user guide for important safety information and detailed step-by-step instructions for your Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pump.
