Impact of Treatment Values on Control-IQ Technology

Control‑IQ technology uses continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) values* to predict glucose levels 30 minutes ahead and automatically adjust insulin delivery to help keep your actual glucose value within the target range.

Insulin delivery is adjusted in several ways to help keep your actual glucose levels within the target range. Here’s how:

A. Increase

B. Maintain

C. Decrease

D. Stop

A

Increase Insulin Delivery

Control-IQ technology will increase basal insulin if the sensor glucose reading is predicted to be above the preset treatment value of 160 mg/dL. If the reading continues to rise and is predicted to be above 180 mg/dL, Control-IQ technology can deliver an automatic correction bolus to help prevent hyperglycemia.

B

Maintain Insulin Delivery

When the predicted sensor glucose reading is within the preset treatment value range (70 -180 mg/dL), the Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pump will deliver insulin at the rate determined by the active Personal Profile settings.

C

Decrease Insulin Delivery

Control-IQ technology will decrease basal insulin if the sensor glucose reading is predicted to be below the preset treatment value of 112.5 mg/dL. This is to help prevent hypoglycemia. During this time, a bolus can still be delivered.

D

Stop Insulin Delivery

Control-IQ technology will stop basal insulin if the sensor glucose reading is predicted to be below the preset treatment value of 70 mg/dL. This is to help prevent hypoglycemia. During this time, a bolus can still be delivered.

Note: The preset treatment values will slightly vary if the Exercise or Sleep Activity are active.
