Temp Rate

Temp Rate, also known as “temporary basal rate,” allows users to temporarily increase or decrease their programmed basal insulin delivery for a set period of time, when Control-IQ+ is turned on or off. Duration options range from 15 minutes to 72 hours. If a Temp Rate is set while Control-IQ+ is turned on, Control-IQ+ will modulate basal and deliver automatic correction boluses* even if a Temp Basal Rate is set to 0%. If a Temp Rate is set while Control-IQ+ is turned off, the set temporary basal rate will remain constant for the duration of the Temp Rate.

A Temp Basal Rate can be programmed if Exercise or Sleep Activity is enabled.

This feature can be beneficial to manage blood sugar levels during situations where more or less insulin might be needed like illness, stress, fasting, etc.

* If glucose values are predicted to be above 180 mg/dL, Control-IQ+ technology calculates a correction bolus using the Personal Profile settings and a target of 110 mg/dL and delivers 60% of that value.
