Using Personal Profiles with Control-IQ Technology

A Personal Profile is a group of settings that define basal and bolus delivery within specific time segments. You can create up to six Personal Profiles but only one can be active at a time. Each profile can be personalized with a name.

While Control-IQ technology is on, the algorithm uses settings from the active Personal Profile to determine insulin delivery, like the correction factor to calculate automatic correction boluses.

Sensor Out of Range

If the Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor are disconnected, Control-IQ technology will continue to work for up to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the pump will revert to delivering the programmed basal rate (limited to 3 units per hour) defined in your Personal Profile settings until the connection is established again.

Target Blood Glucose (BG)

When you activate Control-IQ technology, it automatically sets your Target BG to 110 mg/dL. The Target BG is used solely for calculating correction boluses. To adjust your Target BG, you must first turn off Control-IQ technology.
