Alerts display automatically on your t:slim X2 insulin pump to notify you about pump safety conditions that need your attention.
- Alerts notify you with either a sequence of notes or vibrations, depending on the settings selected in Sound Volume
- Alerts will repeat regularly every five minutes until they are cleared by tapping OK. This can cause the battery to deplete quickly.
Pay attention to alerts and address them as soon as possible. This article provides descriptions and best practices for some common alerts:
Control-IQ High Alert (50)
Control-IQ technology has increased insulin delivery but detects a sensor glucose reading above 200 mg/dL and does not predict that the sensor glucose reading will decrease in the next 30 minutes.
Note: When Control-IQ technology is enabled, you must still manually deliver food boluses. This Control‑IQ High Alert is separate from any CGM high alerts enabled during pump setup.
How to Troubleshoot
- It is important that you troubleshoot and address your high glucose right away. Test your blood glucose (BG) and treat your high BG, as necessary.
- Review our online resource for troubleshooting your glucose
- Check your cartridge, tubing, and infusion site
- Tap OK to close the alert screen
Control-IQ Low ALert (51)
The pump has predicted that your sensor glucose reading will drop below 70 mg/dL or 80 mg/dL, if the Exercise Activity is enabled, in the next 15 minutes.
Note: This Control-IQ Low Alert is separate from any CGM low alerts enabled during pump setup.
How to Troubleshoot
- You cannot edit or adjust this alert for safety reasons
- You are at risk for low BG. Do not delay; eat carbs and monitor your glucose.
- Review our online resource for troubleshooting your glucose
- Tap OK to close the alert screen
Max Insulin Alert (52)
The pump has delivered the maximum 2-hour amount of insulin based on your Total Daily Insulin setting (e.g., 50% of your Total Daily Insulin through basal and/or bolus deliveries) and detects this condition for 20 minutes in a row.
How to Troubleshoot
- Control-IQ technology will suspend insulin delivery for a minimum of five minutes and resume insulin delivery once the condition is no longer detected
- Tap OPTIONS, My Pump, and then Control-IQ to view your Total Daily Insulin setting. It is always recommended that you consult with your healthcare provider before making any settings adjustments.
- Tap OK to clear the alert screen
