Resistance When Filling the Cartridge on the t:slim X2 Insulin Pump

When filling the t:slim X2 cartridge with insulin, it is normal to feel some pressure as you press on the plunger. If you are unable to push insulin into the cartridge, pull the needle out of the insulin fill port, reinsert, and try again.

Note: The needle tip may or may not go all the way in to the fill port, so don't force it.

Fill Port on the t:slim X2 Cartridge with Syringe

If you are still unable to fill the cartridge, proceed with the following steps:

  1. Ensure you are not reusing the cartridge, syringe, or needle
  2. Remove the needle tip from the fill port and depress the syringe plunger. If insulin comes out of the needle, attempt to fill the cartridge again. If insulin does not come out of the needle, continue to the next troubleshooting step.
  3. Remove the needle tip from your filled syringe, twist on a new needle tip, and then attempt to fill the cartridge again
  4. If you are still unable to fill the cartridge with the second needle, discard the existing cartridge, and fill a new cartridge
