You can expect approximately 15 megabytes (MB) of data usage every three days after initially pairing and syncing your t:slim X2 insulin pump with the t:connect mobile app. Please note that data usage may vary with poor cellular reception.
If you prefer not to use your cellular data to wirelessly upload from the mobile app to your Tandem Source account, you can change the mobile app settings to only upload pump data when connected to a Wi-Fi network. To do this, go to Settings and tap Data Control to manage your data upload preferences.
Smartphone Battery Usage
With normal use, the t:connect mobile app should consume only a minimal amount of your smartphone's battery. However, the impact on battery life may vary depending on factors such as your smartphone model and how frequently you use the app to view your pump data.
