Once he got going, he needed a community of other people with type 1 diabetes to learn from and exchange ideas about exercise. He started the Diabetes & Exercise Alliance. In March 2019, with support from that community and his wife, Leslie, Don ran across Texas -- 850 miles in 27 days. He set a FKT by 2.5 days.
