Identifying the Level of Insulin in the Tandem Mobi Cartridge

The Tandem Mobi cartridge (200-unit capacity) has raised lines and numerical markings to show the insulin fill level. There are two black bands (o-rings) in the cartridge. The top black band (the one closest to the cartridge pigtail) indicates the amount of insulin in the cartridge:

  • 0.5 = 50 units
  • 1.0 = 100 units
  • 1.5 = 150 units
  • 2.0 = 200 units

Cartridge Fill

When filling the Tandem Mobi cartridge, add the amount of insulin you want available for 2-3 days plus the additional amount needed to fill your infusion set tubing (can vary from 5 to 30 units). There must be at least 30 units of insulin remaining in the cartridge after the fill tubing process is complete. It is recommended to fill the cartridge past the 0.5 mL (50 unit) mark.
