You must have a compatible smartphone model and operating system to use either the t:connect mobile app (with the t:slim X2 insulin pump) or the Tandem Mobi mobile app (with the Tandem Mobi insulin pump).
Each smartphone device is individually tested to ensure a consistent and secure connection with a Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pump. Smartphones that do not pass our qualification tests are marked as incompatible. A failed test result indicates that the combination of operating system and smartphone model does not support the intended use of our mobile app. For example, a device may fail testing if its hardware reliability is insufficient to maintain app connectivity with the insulin pump.
If your smartphone isn’t listed below as a compatible device, please know that we’re working hard to test more devices and expand our compatibility list.
Note: If you use third-party mobile apps to manage your therapy, it’s important to check compatibility with the developers of that mobile app before updating your smartphone’s operating system.
Check Your Operating System
Knowing your smartphone’s operating system is crucial for ensuring compatibility with our mobile apps. Here’s how to check:
- Apple iOS Version: Tap Settings, General and then About
- Android OS Version: Tap Settings, scroll down and tap About Phone or About Device, and then Software Information
Tandem Mobi Mobile App
Version 3.3.2
Use of the Tandem Mobi mobile app requires a prescription for the Tandem Mobi insulin pump and pairing with a compatible smartphone:

Compatible Pump Software
In order to bolus from the t:connect mobile app, your t:slim X2 insulin pump must be running software version 6.6, 7.6, or higher and be paired with a compatible smartphone model and operating system.
If your smartphone model is not compatible but runs a supported operating system, you may still be able to use the t:connect mobile app as a secondary display for your pump. Check out our interactive Device Compatibility form to confirm what features are available for your device.
If your t:slim X2 insulin pump is not running compatible pump software, you will need to complete a software update, if eligible through the Tandem Source platform, prior to using the t:connect mobile app.
Note: If your t:slim X2 insulin pump is not compatible with the t:connect mobile app, you will not see Bluetooth Settings within the Options menu of your pump. Some software updates may require a new prescription from your healthcare provider.
