Disabling Automatic Updates on Your Smartphone

Not all smartphone operating system versions are compatible with the t:connect mobile app or Tandem Mobi mobile app. As a result, you should always verify the new operating system is supported before updating the software on your smartphone. We recommend disabling automatic operating system updates.

Note: This only applies to major operating system updates to iOS and Android devices. Minor updates and maintenance updates should not be impacted and can be installed at your discretion.

Turn Off Automatic Updates

Use the following steps to disable automatic updates on your smartphone:

Apple

  1. Tap Settings and then General
  2. Tap Software Update
  3. Tap Automatic Updates
  4. Tap both iOS Updates toggles to the off position

Android

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Software update and then adjust your download settings

Note: If you have the "Auto Download over Wi-Fi" feature enabled and your Android device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, your smartphone will automatically download the new software update. When the download is complete, you'll receive a notification that there's an update available for installation. Always check the compatibility of the new software update prior to installing it.
